The entertainment starts at 5:00 p.m., with Santa arriving around 6:30 p.m. to light the tree, followed by a fireworks show. Santa’s House will be open for visitors after that, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. If the line is too long on the night of the Tree Lighting, don’t worry – you will have chances to visit Santa throughout the month of December.
Free cookie decorating will be taking place in the DoubleTree atrium from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. that evening, and you’ll find a variety of First Fridays activities and promotions all around downtown. Also enjoy one a Jingle Jams concert on the Gridiron by The Angles from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Mayor Anthony Copeland invites you to a new East Chicago festival – FUSIC FEST. A combination of food, music, fun and water show. They will have a fire & acrobat show from the Cincinnati Circus, LED dance robot, a DJ, and an electrifying water show by Aquafly. There will be FIREWORKS each night by the MAD BOMBER.

A joint project between the Chamber of Commerce and the Koselke-Mayfield post of the American Legion in Wanatah, this event features a variety of activities the whole family can enjoy. It starts in the afternoon with the Hawg Creek Duck race and an Open Pit BBQ Dinner. Following the fireworks display at dusk, there is a dance in the Legion hall for those over 21. Held the first Saturday after the 4th of July.
